    Tweeters

I'm using the 3/4" Dayton neodymium tweets. They sound great and are very cheap, but the right tweeter for your will depend on your needs and the rest of your system. You don't want tweets in the rear.

    WTB: Sound deadening

What did you end up using? I have a box of polyfill that you can have. It helps with squeeks and rattles and doesn't add much weight.

SOLD ATTN Purdue Students: Tempests FS

You'll probably have better luck selling them nationally. Most people in Indiana would look at your Adire subs, laugh, and then buy some Xplodes.

    Tweeter protection

Like the others said, there's something wrong if you're blowing tweeters. Check your filters or your volume knob. Not high-passing your tweeters can destroy them even with very little power.

    Neodymium Dome Tweeter

Those are some of the best sounding tweeters that I've heard. They sound detailed and smooth. I'm using them right now. I can't wait to get my Dayton mids in.

    my new tweeters

I bought 10 of those tweeters just for shits and giggles with my last PE order. A couple of them were DOA. The ones that work don't sound that great (they play very high, somewhat harsh, weird sound). They include a high-pass capacitor on them. For $0.25 they're a lot of fun to play with...

    RE RE comps x-over freq.

My Xover frequency is at about 2.5KHz 4th order with a Zobel network. Don't worry too much about the wattage hit that you will take. Even at 37 watts you are only 3dB down from 75 watts. That should be plenty. If you've ever measured the actual wattage that you're sending your speakers...

    Focal vs Bose

I'm afraid that your father has fallen for the brand hype.

    RE RE comps x-over freq.

Don't worry so much about impedance! You can always put a resistor in for impedance matching. Try not to limit yourself to those RE crossovers either. You can always build your own crossovers or find someone to design the crossovers for you. I think Madisound offers crossover designs since...
