Thank u for the reply, so even though all the pins are present in the HU they are not connected internally?

My new HU is a Sony DSX-A500BD and the connection socket on the rear has pins as shown in the picture which do not have wires in the supplied connection lead in the same pic ( you can see four wires missing in the black connection plug) and it makes no mention what they are for in the manual...
