    Kicker L7 15" vs Alpine SWR 12"

I ran two type R's for 4 years and then sold them, never had a problem with them and ran them in 3 different box setups with quite a bit of power to them. Dunno what happened to your's, but mine were flawless.

    Need Help Finding a Sub

Thanks, this looks like a decent choice and it has acceptable FS and Qts values. An it's 5 inches deep, should be perfect and it matches well with my SAE 1000d at 2 ohms. The 10.5 inch mounting diameter isn't too big a deal. With a 3/4 inch baffle quite a few people have gotten 10.5 inch subs...

    Need Help Finding a Sub

Thanks for the suggestion but that won't work, the mounting depth on that sub is nearly twice as long as will fit. BTW are funky pups still a thing? Would love to run one of those in my car and decimate all comers.

    Need Help Finding a Sub

So, it's been a long time and three cars later but I want to get back into the car audio game. Problem is my car has very little room compared to my last build. I'm currently driving a Lexus SC300. It currently has an 8inch sub mounted in the rear deck. I do not wan to lose any of my trunk...

Go with a snow blue. So an almost white with purple/blue hues in it. I always thought that'd look sick.

    Advice for hearing problems

If you decide that you will NEVER turn the volume up to it's old level again you can adjust the gain on your sub amp for a lower volume. But if you turn volume on your head unit back up to your usual listening level you might damage equipment and will most likely cause a bit of clipping.

    Lead acid batt inside trunk?

yeah if the trunk isn't properly vented and the gas manages to build up I've heard it can explode, although i havent verified that with any actual sources so that may not be true. I've also heard the gas is toxic for us (humans) to breathe, so if his trunk has air passages from it that lead to...

    alpine type r reverse mount

you do not need to reverse polarity here as it really won't matter, just make sure BOTH subs have the SAME polarity so that they fire in phase and you don't get cancellation

Even I don't think they're that great for SQ

best sub under200.00 that will love 32hz

Yeah man, they're a real underground sub though, not too many people know about the power of the pups yet. Even Steve Meade has a couple in his basement for when he really wants to assasinate the lows, I think they're going in his new project.

Is it a MUST to take off the crossver when running active?

Yes, otherwise the point of running active is lost. Your crossover will still get hot and soak up some of the power. Your crossover will still impose it's crossover points on the signal anyways and it'll be as if nothing changed. Just remove the crossover and connect the speakers directly to...

what XOVER do i need for 80-120 htz midbass?

He only has two channels open and watns to run tweeters and midbass, thats what you're missing, it won't work like u say unless he has an inline passive crossover because his mids need a Bandpass (meaning high and low crossover working together) and his tweeters need a seperate high pass...
