Well did the 9v battery test and yeah I think it's fried.

I plugged it in directly to the sub wires and it's reading infinite blinking ohms and ~8-24 volts... but no sound. Odd. I've already found the sub wires to be good via test speaker. Is the sub dead?

Well the sub might still be bad or might have blown... everything inside looks fine but no dice with the multimeter. Gonna try to plug it into alternate source and see if it works otherwise I think it might have actually got blown up with the short. *bolded because it's a bit of an update...

Correction: they were melted off. Both of em. Assuming something shorted and the same thing happened to wires inside sub. Wa-laa.

I did. The actual sub was dead (car sub) when I probed with the ohm meter (inside the sub's input spring clips). The test speaker worked fine using the sub speaker wire. Gonna pop off the door now and check those with same test speaker.

Hooked ohm meter up to sub terminals and it's totally dead. Will do same thing with doors later. Any one have a clue how 3 speakers may have popped at the same time?

Yeh that's just how they installed it. Not really where I would have preferred it but they didn't ask. It's a complete and utter pain in the *** to get to it.
