After two defective units, I ended up exchanging it with the Alpine iDA-X305S. It does not have a CD player. It is made for ipods and you can play Pandora on it if you have an iphone or itouch. Gives me an excuse to get an itouch.

The SCC1C tuner was the problem. They said that they had never seen this problem before out of all they had installed. Either this is all coincidence, which it very well could be, or there is a systemic problem with some component of the system/car that is causing this.

You are correct, I learned a lesson. But that only makes me smarter than before, less money, but smarter. I am returning the sub and getting the dual 4ohm and wiring it to 2ohm. Thank you.

Thanks for your input. I have decided as another poster recommended to get the 4ohm subwoofer and wire it in series to get the 2ohm.
