I'm running the Alpine Type X's....you can get them for cheap off ebay....i'm extremely happy with them. They will do good off 100 - 200 watts.

I can't really check the gains that easily.....the amps are in the spare tire well and the box takes up the whole trunk. It was installed at an audio shop a few months back and it's been fine until last week. If anything, i'd take it back to the shop so that they could look at it, but I just...

The box is tuned to 32 hz.....they don't completely stop, they cut in and out as if the cd was skipping. I just experimented changing the sub level through the head unit.....if i turn up the sub level, it seems to play well at lower volumes from what i can tell.

Currently, i'm running a Nine.1 and 2 idmax 12's wired down to 1 ohm.... When I turn the volume on my W200 lower than 20, the subs start to cut out....when I raise the volume again to above 20, they start thumping again. Has anyone seen this before or have any idea on what could be happening...

Right now i'm running the H701/W200 combo with 6.5" Type X's up front.......i'm loving this setup. I get tons of midbass (after dyno-ing the doors) and extremely crisp highs. I highly recommend my headunit setup along with the speakers.

I have the H701 with the W200 dvd head unit and I'm running a 2.1 setup....5.1 would be overkill imo. You should spend the extra cash on getting the best possible components and getting your front stage setup properly. You'll listen to music more than you watch movies.

It might be too much power, but you could always keep the gains down. I'd recommend connecting the speakers in bridged mode and comparing that to running the two channels un-bridged.
