Fake Face Plate???

OK, so is there such a thing as a fake face plate (for lack of a better term) that can be used to cover up your stereo head unit when parking a vehicle.... so if a criminal looks in the window they will see what appears to be a sing DIN stereo that has has it's face plate removed and will decide to not break in for the stereo because he'll think the head unit is worthless without the face plate?

My stereo is actually a double DIN head unit, but I was thinking it would be cool to have a way to fake out the bad guys and be able to put some cover over it to make it look like it's nothing they would want to break in and steal.

If anybody knows of a product like this, please let me know

I haven't seen s fake faceplate in decades. Usually, you would cut the front of the old OEM HU off and fabricate it yourself. IMHO, it would be less trouble to install an OEM alarm. The OEM alarms usually come with a plug 'n play harness.

Its 2025 people don't steal head units.

Sure they do....

Just put a spotify car thing over it.

What is a "spotify car thing"

Print your own on thick card stock, and use removable double-sided tape or sticky pad to attach it.

You could buy an old OEM radio at the junkyard, remove the faceplate, hot glue magnets to the corners and corresponding spots on the dash. Or bypass the junkyard and buy this replacement face.

That'd be funny.... make it look like I'm still using cassettes! :ROFLMAO:

Maybe I should go for an 8-Track :poop:

Its 2025 people don't steal head units. They steal catalytic converters.
Ide have to agree....
Unless the OP lives in some stupid horrible area with ridiculous amounts of crime that were un-aware of...
Throw a towel over it, looks like your protecting your dash from the elements when unoccupied...
If your truly concerned...

Your user info says you're located in "Tyland"? Surely you will be more specific or is everything not bolted down or hidden being stolen?

What you're asking is so 1980's.

I remember JC Whitney had a quite impressive catalog once upon a time. Idk... they may have survived Covid.

Best I got
