Protect the rights of the January 6th rioters? What do you mean? I've been very clear that anyone rioting (whether it was January 6th MAGA folks, BLM, LA rioters, etc...) should face the punishment for things like destruction of property or assaulting police officers. Trump didn't seem to think that the capitol riot was a big deal....considering how he watched it on TV for hours and did nothing. And then pardoned all the rioters to boot.

So yeah.....his moves to shut down protests with military force is a laugh. But that's how fascists operate.

Good point about Trump. He didn't seem to think j6 rioters were all that bad. Comparatively, they did do less damage and dispersed in few hours. Maybe AOC can pardon any federally charged ICE rioters if/ when she takes office. That said, I'm still confused about how stopping riots is fascist.

It has nothing to do with opinion. You're free to like what Trump is doing....even if I think it's despicable. But ignoring facts and common knowledge is cultist behavior. It's ignoring reality in order to live in the alternate reality that daddy Trump has created for the cult.

Comparatively....they attacked the capitol as congress was certifying the election results....in a riot that he organized himself.

Deploying the military on U.S. citizens is inherently fascist. But it's just one of many things that Trump and his shitheaded admin are doing. lol.....the courts are being bombarded with illegal acts by this administration to the point of exhaustion. And the Trump admins only response to having these orders declared illegal is to attack the judges as being anti-American or corrupt....or whatever else dogshit they pump out.

All I'll say is.....don't be mad or outraged when the pendulum swings back in the other direction. I don't think a democrat will go anywhere near as far as this admin is taking things.....but Trump and his lackeys are currently proving that the checks and balances on the power of the executive branch were being held together with decorum. Decorum and respect for the system and the law. They don't care about either.

The MSM reports ~140 officers injured during the rioting. I suspect that's a greatly exaggerated #, but I wouldn't be surprised if a few dozen were legitimately injured. There are plenty of interviews with officers who claim to have been injured during the rioting.
