Turning off the radio only on DMX4710S?

I have a DMX4710S unit in my RV and use it extensively for Apple car play and navigation or other apps. If the radio on the unit is on a station the only way to shut it up is to hit mute on the radio app. HOWEVER, whenever we stop and turn the vehicle off and then back on, the darn radio is back on again and we constantly have to remute it. Isn't there a way to simply turn the radio part off and have it stay off until you actually want it back on? Also, even when it is muted we get a 1/2 second burst of radio noise at the end of the other apps notifications.

This turns off the entire head unit. As I previously said I want just the Radio portion off so I can continue to use the other apps on the unit.

Wait, when you switch sources the radio still play through?
I think I understand. When you use Apps, the music still plays uniterrupted. I think if you change the music source before activating Apps should give you silence.
