I get that lol, but the other forums and Reddit seem to be doing fine. Trying to make sense of why things are so slow around here and if anything I can do to improve things.

I take full responsibility. I was a member of Elite Car Audio and that forum died. Then I was on CarAudioForum.com and that died. I'm a snowboarding forum that's dying a slow death too.

I think Reddit is doing good because either google is pushing Reddit or Reddit is just good at getting their forums to show up at the top of internet searches. Alot of forums are dying - I think it's Twitter, Facebook Groups, Reddit, Quora, etc. This forum is a like gnat on an elephant's arse compared to the big dogs. Even DIYMA seems to have slowed down considerably. I don't think the quality of Reddit, Quora, et al even comes close to this forum, but they know how to capture traffic.

It’s amazing how these political threads continue to fester, while the car audio related threads are going extinct. Anyone have any input on what’s going wrong on this site?

This isn't even a tangent I don't want to go down, it's going to be just as ridiculous as the rest of this thread. Even If I wanted to go down this road, it's not even close to being on the same level, and I just expect more nonsense.

Do you not remember when mcconnell refused to call a vote for bills, or for obama's supreme court nominee? It was a dirty move because they couldn't technically stop him. He refused to do his job. IMO it crossed the line, and it should have drawn criticism from republicans. Blood would have spilled if it was done to them. They have for less.

The reason I have such a problem with trump and his sheep, is because of what you are turning the republican party into. Because of trump, the republicans are no longer the party of working hard to do better, of pro military, pro law enforcement, pro middle class, pro small business, (trump has insulted all of that, and you've laughed along with him). Republicans have become the party of cheating and lying as long as you can get away with it. Insulting police and the military. Cowards caving into the money. Not caring about what's right for the future generations, and only caring about themselves.
trumpers are the ones that are allowing the nonsense to go on, not just unchecked but encouraged. It isn't about hating republicans, or liking democrats, it's about he and you making things worse and worse, and you keep giving a lot of freedom to the least worst option.

It's because you trumpers won't acknowledge he intentionally tried to hide covid, screwed that up, and made the economy worse; so those that are on the fence think the least worst option compared to having that guy back, is voting the guy that's probably gonna wipe out all the debt, and give free homes to anyone that wants cut their balls off, because that's the least worst option. Stop trying to push it to the edge, all you're doing is giving them more room to just be not as bad.

I've already removed ads and indexing from the off-topic forum, to try to please the almighty Google, but no luck so far. Members only access. Your idea is worth noting though, as car audio topics here are almost non-existent lately. Google does not see CarAudio.com to be useful for someone looking for car audio, therefore it has removed or demoted all the search listings, go figure!

I agree, but its what Google and the young generation want these days, not quality forums that are easy to navigate. diyma used to advertise on here long ago, believe it or not. Being bought up by VerticalScope helped them out a lot, giving them free traffic from their other forums, etc. They have approached to buy this site...

Too bad more folks don't use searches like that. We're doing well on all other searches, just not Google. Maybe if we changed the name from caraudio.com to politicsforum.com it would do better on Google lol...

I'd say that's an "aggressive and overly broad" description of Republicans and Trump supporters. That said, I'm far away from a Trump supporter and I'm pretty confident the same goes for Spokey. Trump's done enough actual stuff, that there is no need to "stretch" him whining about Fed policy into TELLING the Fed to cut rates.

Speaking from what I witnessed at CarAudioForum, the site kinda dwindled as some of the older more knowledgeable members stop posting. CAF still had a lot of knowledgeable members and you ended up with alot of really concise and accurate answers to problems, so you ended up with a post about voltage drop resolved in a few posts. The OG posters would run off the newbie idiots that didn't know what they were talking about pretty quickly. The arguments about why Dynaudio is better than Hertz went away, etc. So if google is looking for post counts, then the site will obviously get slower and slower and google will recommend it less, which kills post count. I don't know how you reverse that trend.

I do check the audio threads, but if it's an SPL question, then I bow out and let those more knowledgeable than me answer. If somebody else has already provided a good answer, then I don't feel the need to reply. I guess we can all start replying to audio threads even if it adds little to no value to the discussion in an attempt to push us up the google search. But I doubt we'll ever overtake Reddit, Quora or Diyma. Even if we can get that #4 position, that's still the 4th position. I also wonder how many people who already have a Reddit or Quora profile just do a search Reddit search, in which case we never had a chance.
