Actually, the continuation of said policy belongs to Biden. I don't even mind the subsidy in principle, but once the demand has been established and the technology is proven, etc, time to dial back the subsidy. But not in 'Merica.
Remove the subsidy and the price goes up...demand goes down 😉

Why would I want to pay 20% every year on gains when I can just pay it one time at the end when I sell and be done with it? When I lose money can I write that loss off and get that money back on taxes I paid for that year? Interest rates have gone up a lot so if a house loses 200k in value, I want to write off that loss. Does that mean if I make $200k a year and pay $48,000 in federal taxes I’m going to get a refund of $48,000? You want to tax investment on gains you have to be prepared to allow write offs when those investments lose. I can see this costing the irs lots of money when houses lose value or stocks lose value. It might get them alot of money the first couple of years but over time I can see it screwing them. In either case I would totally not be for this. I ain’t a billionaire and I don’t want this 🤣.
I would absolutely let people write off the loss to offset gains just like they do now. The only difference is they don't have sell to take a loss (or book a gain). It will never screw the IRS over time because the markets always go up over time. So you'd rather not be inconvenienced with paying taxes on your gains incrementally over the course of years, even though that means the wealthiest Americans go untaxed?

It doesn’t bother me they aren’t paying taxes on stocks they own that aren’t sold. I get the same exact benefit as they do but in the small cases of those who obtained shares through a company they started, I say more power to them for being able to do that. I’m not a billionaire but I’m far from poor. I’ve worked hard and it’s paid off for me, i don’t even think about how much money some own in stocks, I only worry about what I got. I have all my ducks in a row and don’t need the government to take care of me or give me anything. I’d like them out of my life as much as possible. That’s just me though.

Interesting. So you have no problem that the wealthiest Americans don't pay taxes and then pass that untaxed wealth onto their children yet again to be untaxed? Does it bother you when poor people leech off the system? Does it bother you that we inherit a massive national debt that keeps getting passed onto future generations until one day the house of cards falls?

It’s doesn’t bother me they go untaxed on cash they can’t use. The same goes for their kids. Want to use that money gotta sell the stock. Poor people leeching off the system will never end no matter how much we complain about it. I’ve learned to live it with it. The national debt is proof the government isn’t very good at their job. They love to spend spend spend spend. There are many things they can stop throwing money at but it seems complaining about that stuff won’t end it either. It’s great to talk about it, gives us a chance to vent some. In the end nothing will change, I view it as let me worry about my life and live it to the fullest before it’s over. That is what I do!

I wouldn't say the national debt proves the gov't isn't good at their job. It proves it's more politically expedient to run up debt than it is tax the people. It proves politicians are pretty easy to buy and the national debt is just what those that own politicians prefer to taxation.

It proves that govt is unwilling to be fiscally responsible...

The people who run our gov are financially suiciding us while lining their pockets at the end of nation’s lifespan. It’s like the infrastructure bill; we pay for that shit, and they’re the ones funneling money into companies they choose, which winds up paying them back, and it rarely benefits us. Just print more money and tax us, so they can continue to direct funds right back into their own pockets.

We might disagree about alot of other things, but we're in 100% agreement here. We basically fund, subsidize and insure their businesses and then they turn around and bribe our politicians with the money we refuse to collect in taxes. It's quiet the arrangement if you're on the right side of the equation.

There’s no telling what all long term illnesses will pop up from the experimental covid shots given to the masses. I think there’s a lot of symptoms people have that haven’t been linked to the covid vaccines, yet:

“Another apparent complication, a debilitating suite of symptoms that resembles Long Covid, has been more elusive, its link to vaccination unclear and its diagnostic features ill-defined. But in recent months, what some call Long Vax has gained wider acceptance among doctors and scientists, and some are now working to better understand and treat its symptoms.”

AN IMMUNE OVERREACTION to SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, which COVID-19 vaccines use to induce protective antibodies, is one possible cause of these symptoms.”
