Nicotine alternatives

Take a very large dose of mushrooms or lsd. From what I have read, you will feel reborn the next day and your addiction might be more or less reset.

High dose THC might be similar .

I have a buddy who used to smoke, switch to chew, back to smoking, doing both... He eventually quit by switching to gum. He chews and arse load of gum and I guess it's expensive, but he certainly cut down his chances of getting cancer.

I stopped smoking by vaping. Now I’m addicted to vaping. I want to stop. Any good nicotine alternatives? I’ve tried Zyn, didn’t like it
You want to stop.
You want a "good" alternative to nicotine.

You made the declaration that you want to stop. What is the alternative for then? Nicotine is an addiction. If you have an alternative then you are still feeding an addiction. You haven't stopped anything, you have simply substituted for one for another. You will still spend money for the new alternative. The new addiction.

Your body does not need nicotine or an alternative for nicotine. If you MUST have an alternative then make it something new, something healthy, something different. A hobby or interest of some sort. Like tea. You could learn about tea and try many types and flavors. You could collect something. You could learn to cook new foods.

The point is YOU have to make the choice. Is an addiction stronger than your will to not be addicted? Remember the words of Master Yoda. Do or do not... there is no try. You can do it.

Nicotine isn’t actually that harmful to your body. It’s the delivery system and how you intake it that kills you. What most of us are actually addicted to is the act of smoking itself, not the actual nicotine. I was vaping with 0 nicotine and I still fell back into smoking. The nicotine is not what I’m actually addicted to. The mushroom idea sounds intriguing. its micro dosing that intrigues me about it. I’ve done shrooms recreationally more times than I can count, but it didn’t have therapeutic benefit by taking it to actually get high. Micro doses are really changing peoples lives though. I know a few with ptsd that were helped a lot by it.

Exactly. I think I am addicted to the taste and the action of vaping. I do get some calming from the nicotine. I have a very stressful career.
I know my doctor as well as the VA has offered me the nicotine patches. But I think I will still have that craving for the taste.

Yes. And also the actual action of smoking is addictive. The ritual of it. The socializing with it. It’s all addictive.

I quit smoking by taking a 2-week trip with my dad. He didn't know i smoked and i didn't want him to find out.

At this point, I have other addictions. The best advice I can offer is that you have to quit short-term to quit long-term. If you get a craving, force yourself to wait ten minutes.

Good luck man.

I might not quit forever but I'm not doing it today. I heard it takes your body 21 days to learn new habits. When you "REALLY" want to quit you will. It will sukk for a little while and you will feel weird (anxious) because your body and mind are telling you that they need it. It's a fight until you re-train your mind. The short term fight sukks the long term benefits will be worth it.
