And no offense... or be offended, I don't care but you are two guys on an internet forum. I am sure your knowledge is far superior to those who practice and teach in this field. When I say theoretical it is because it is still being studied which means nobody has all the answers, nothing is definitive which means it has no choice but to be theoretical. That does not mean they have no knowledge but it for sure does not make me wrong.

I will make it simple for the laymen. A car driving through the tunnel is not in or on the mountain just as the nerve passing through the bone is not in or on the bone. It is passing through a tunnel. When these nerves are disturbed they receive and send signals and the body responds. Be it for the body to repair the area around that nerve (The Bone) or to cause pain and so on. I don't think I can explain it down more than that.
Your analogy is just plain wrong, and contradicts any medical text out there that discusses nerves and location of nerves.
Yes there is plenty that is theoretical about nerves. That doesn't mean that it is ALL theoretical. There is a lot that is already proved and documented. Bones having nerves in them is something that is prcved and long-documented.
There is plenty that is theoretical about space travel. Do you think that makes it ALL theoretical? There is plenty that is theoretical about brain function. Do you think that makes it ALL theoretical? If you do, you're wrong. Plain and simple. Proof and facts are plentiful.

It's obvious that you're trying to spin it to say that the nerve is not part of the bone because it is only IN the bone, but that's a false logic. That's like saying the periosteum is not part of the bone because it only SURROUNDS the bone, or marrow is not part of the bone, it's just INSIDE the bone. That's as false a logic as saying the eyes are not part of the head, they just sit inside the head, or capillaries are not part of the skin, they just pass THROUGH it.

It's an attempt to prove your claim, but it fails by even the oldest medical references.
I guess Cs and Ds DO get degrees, huh?

Wrong... why, because you don't get it? Does that make my analogy wrong? I am pretty sure ANYTHING I tell you is going to be "wrong". I tried to explain it to you, again, you refuse to listen. Have a good one.

No. it's wrong because it contradicts medical science. Medical science states that nerves are part of the bone. No one EVER would say that cars are a part of a tunnel. Poor analogy.
At best, you might say "Power wires are not part of a tunnel, they just pass through it". Where even that anaology would fail is if the wires are embedded int he concrete that is poured to form the tunnel. Then they indeed are "part of the tunnel".

If the nerves simply passed through airspace "tunnels" in the bone, like wiring through conduit, then your analogy might work. But they don't. They are within the bone itself. That's why the medical journals state things like: "The main misconception about bones then, is that they are made up of dead tissue. This is not true, they have cells, nerves, blood vessels and pain receptors." and
"Bone tissue contains a dense network of sensory and sympathetic nerve fibers," and
"For instance, the French neurologist Leriche endorsed Bohler’s observation that a single large injection of local anaesthetic agent between the ends of a fractured bone induces both relaxation of local spasm and anaesthesia, which facilitates relatively painless reduction of the fracture. The deep injection does not alter overlying skin sensitivity."

For a baseline, would you agree that the skin has capillaries and sometimes follicles in it?

What's your medical background KarenGMN?

What does it matter??? I linked papers from Orthopedic doctors and images from medical studies. I have no medical background other than injuries sustained and I can tell you bones do indeed hurt.

Again no medical background, but I can tell you HS Pyso we covered the skeleton. That teacher (who I assume had some sort degree) taught us the skeleton indeed has nerves, which allow it to respond to stimuli, ie it can increase blood output in response to blood loss.

Spokey is trying in some weird way to discredit my (and your,I guess) side of this argument because I do not possess formal medical training (though neither does Thxone).

It's a really weird argument though, to suggest that formal medical training is needed in order to state things as fact that are taught to us in basic high school anatomy. Things that can be confirmed in literally DOZENS of textbooks, including the one that Thx claims to have read in order to earn his degree.

I understand they both only want to say that i am wrong, but to completely deny over a century of medical science that can EASILY be checked? That's just fvcking strange, no matter how you look at it.

Really.... ? What is "formal training" Rob?

I have read all this that you are quoting... again, you can quote till your tiny little left ventricle is exhausted and it still won't mean a thing. You need to understand what you are quoting and for that matter make sure the terminology you are using is the same as the person you are arguing with. If you are saying one word and using it one way and the other person is using the same word another way then you will be arguing till the end of time. I suspect this is the case for you 96.4% of the time.

A degree and hands-on experience through internship and job.
Oh.... I see... A degree √ Hands on experience AT a job √√. I am pretty sure I covered that many years ago. That "Hands on experience AT a job" led me to work at the Wright-Patt Air Force Base which is none of your business and then led to injuries that are none of your business. I am not in the field because of said injuries that are still none of your business.

Huh? So I need to understand nuclear theory to be able to state the fact that both fission and fusion produce energy?
I need to be an architect to state the fact that an arch bridge is stronger than a beam bridge?
I need to be a chef to state the fact that filet mignon is a better cut than flank?
I need to be a mechanic to state the fact that there is an ideal fuel to air ratio that must be achieved to prevent detonation when you run 20 psi boost on that turbo?
I need to be a firefighter to state the fact that even oxygen deprivation won't put out some fires?

You're delusional.
The really funny part is that you think you understand the concepts we are discussing, yet continue to argue your false belief that bones do not have nerves and pain receptors in them. All this, in spite of your "degree" and all the proof presented here that shows you are wrong.
WHAT year did you get your degree?

Any random asss can quote other peoples facts from the internet then pawn them off as their own knowledge... You need to stop doing that bruh.

Hmmm. So when I quote information from others, I am "passing it off as my own knowledge?".
With that logic, you can never state anything other than a personal feeling, lest you are trying to pass other's knowledge off as your own.

The funny thing is that you can't even successfully pass other's knowledge off as your own. Medical textbooks for over a century have said there are nerves in bone, and you got it wrong.
That's like stealing an empty money bag and thinking you are suddenly rich, despite looking into an empty space.

Yup, just like you... LITERALLY just like you I am "borrowing" knowledge from others.... How dare we.

Make up your mind. It's OK to quote facts that others have already proved, or it isn't?
Or is it OK for you, but not for me? If it's only OK for you, I would suggest that you at least get it right when you "borrow" and repeat it.
Borrowing, changing, and repeating it as incorrect info is just a fail.
