What is?

Because of variants... of course you already knew that. ;)
For the same reason people can get the flu with multiple vaccinations: The vaccine doesn’t fight COVID, it stimulates the body to better fight COVID on its own.

Do you think a cast itself makes broken bones heal?
Why would you think a vaccine itself fights off COVID?
Do you simply not understand what a vaccine is and how it works?

What’s causing the variants to mutate?

One reason why it is so scary that the Polar Caps are melting, Greenland melting its ice away. Is that it is possible for some ancient disease that we are no longer immune to could cause massive global issues. They have proven this in some European Labs already. They found a couple that were dormant but went active when they messed with it in the lab. They were known but still. Who knows what is out there. Same thing could be said for marine life. Too may species have been called "extinct" only to show up again. Too much is unknown about this world that is millions of years old. Never mind what is out there in space to found.

Nature. Mutations of disease occurred LONG before the vaccines were even a dream.

So did mutations of genes. Ever hear of evolution? It’s not exclusive to humans, you know.

How is nature evolving a bioweapon?

‘As of March 2022, five SARS-CoV-2 strains were labeled "variants of concern" by the World Health Organization: the Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, and Omicron variants. This review summarizes the potential mechanisms by which the common mutations on the spike protein that occur within these strains enhance the overall fitness of their respective variants.’

Is covid going to mutate in something unstoppable if people keep getting vaccinated forever? Why is covid lasting so long?

Gov't conspiracy. The Clintons worked with China to create a highly infectious virus with a gain of function not only to infect, but also to mutate. It was then released upon the world to avenge liberal defeats in the US and UK.
The same way she has been for millions of years, or gov't conspiracy - you choose.

But what causes viruses to mutate?

Why are you asking questions you claimed in the past to have all the answers to?

Living things mutate to survive. The virus is a living thing, right? They also mutate from imperfect replication. Like a photocopy of a photocopy of a photocopy.
Or the telephone game!

So why would there be a bunch a variants with different spike proteins when all the American vaccines are based around training the immune system to attack the spike protein? What encourages the targeting of the spike protein, and what do people keep taking?

I’ll answer a question with a question or two: Why do mutations happen?
Why does Influenza mutate even though we vaccinate against it?

Why would you get a vaccine constantly for something that mutates and you can catch anyways? How do vaccinations change the mutations of the virus?
Because the vaccine has been proved to reduce the effects of getting it, and to reduce the odds of DYING from it, not to mention reduce the odds of transmitting it.

If you had HIV, would you wear a rubber to help prevent transmitting to others you are active with, and take drugs to reduce the damage to your body and pain it would inflict? Would you want someone close to you who had it to take efforts to not transmit to you in any way?

If I was hiv positive...I wouldn't put others at risk in the first place...you know responsibilities and all..
