Thats interesting considering the lowest gas price under Obamas term was $1.74

Are you sure? Here are the prices of gas in Kansas City, Kansas during Obamas last year and Trumps first two years.

What Manson did and the statements Trump made are not remotely the same things. Manson went to jail for a reason and Trump did not because he didn't do what Manson did. What are you not understanding?

But here's the rub. Clearly Manson stepped over the line - no question about it. OTOH, Trump clearly pushed right up to the line. Did Trump cross it, maybe the Jan 6th committee can find a smoking gun. IMHO, Trump acted more like a mafia boss, who carefully insulates himself from the crimes, but is really pulling the strings all along. Trump has done things like meddle in Georgia's electoral process, etc and that's pretty damning evidence, but is that enough to impeach or jail a former POTUS? IMHO, you need something above and beyond a reasonable doubt to go after a former POTUS.

Although Trump's "stolen election" antics strike me as beyond despicable, I really don't want to set the precedent that the new administration can/should pursue action against the previous administration. Furthermore, any action taken against Trump will only make him a martyr in the eyes of the right. Once upon a time, I thought a Jan 6th committee was the right thing to do, but in hindsight, I think the committee may help Trump more than it hurts him and I don't think the Jan 6th committee is really doing anything that benefits democracy. IMHO, what we have is shell of a democracy that's quickly rotting from the inside.

It's a real rule. I looked it up and it seems several credible sources (LATimes, Thesaurus.com, etc) say you go with the sound, not the letter or in the case of "you" not the way the letter is being used. So it would be "an youtube video," although to my ear that sounds incorrect. OTOH, "An hour" is correct, but "hour" doesn't sound like it starts with a vowel sound to me.
This reinforces what you say, but it explains why “a” is used before words that start with the consonant sound of a y:
“The indefinite article ‘a’ is used before words beginning with a consonant sound, including ‘y’ and ‘w’ sounds,” writes Garner’s Modern American Usage. ‘The other form, ‘an,’ is used before words beginning with a vowel sound. Since the sound rather than the letter controls, it’s not unusual to find ‘a’ before a vowel or ‘an’ before a consonant.”

That’s why “a,” not “an,” goes before the “European.” Though “European” starts with the vowel “e,” it’s pronounced as though it starts with the consonant sound of “y.” Similarly, that’s why “an” goes before “MBA.” Yes, “m” is a consonant. But the letter is pronounced “em,” beginning with an “e” sound.

A European.
A yew.
A useless piece of shit.
A Yahoo account.
A yellow bus.
A ukulele.
A willow.
A whim.

Going with the sound OR the rule (the rule that if a word or syllable starts with a consonant sound y, you use “a”), you end up using A for “you” or “you’re”.
This is precisely why saying “An YouTube video” sounds wrong to you: It IS wrong. Remember: “several credible sources (LATimes, Thesaurus.com, etc) say you go with the sound, not the letter or in the case of "you" not the way the letter is being used.”

VERY few words currently in use have a vowel sound y at the beginning of the word. Yttrium is one. “AN yttrium atom” is correct. But no exception has to be followed, as it’s pronounced “itreeum” which is a vowel sound.

As an English major, I’m sure you learned that things sounding “right” will almost always tell you they are right.

IMHO it's not hypocritical at all. Whenever you see what appears to be a double standard (hypocrisy), it merely means there are greater standards behind this supposed double standard. It could be loyalty to Trump, loyalty to the GOP, hatred of Biden/liberals/democrats. Or maybe they just understand how markets work.

Markets work through supply and demand. Republicans can't seem to understand that.

Whatever comes of it, if Trump is found guilty of inciting and insurrection then this current administration needs to be held accountable for the actions they have done. I watched the Jan 6th speech. I have read the unedited transcripts. I understood Trump. If I was there I would have been happy to go to the Capitol Building and peacefully protest. I fully believe there were instigators and agitators there that caused this and there was help from the inside, just my opinion.

He says I am predictable lol I called this shit lol.

You are arguing, I am not. If I am simple minded then you are brainless.
You can’t distinguish between “argument” as a fight, “argument” as a debate, and “argument” as a set of reasons or a singular reason.
Easy to understand in the context presented, but you can’t get it. Funny, since you are always crying about “context”.

Yet, you call me brainless. Pure irony.

You demand facts from people but then use terms to cover broad meanings. You want to take everyone literal but then want to use vague expressions. I can distinguish many things including your hypocrisy. Anything else?

Do you wash your **** out with a douche, or do you just always carry that stench around?
