So as to not hijack his thread I want to address this here...

I still want to know how the amp was getting power while he was changing the battery? OP must've connected the battery backwards and then turned his stereo on. Yes a fire. Do you know what blows a fuse? Do you know what melts a fuse holder? Do you know what turns copper cables red?

He said exactly what he did. You and Rob seem to have this issue where you refuse to read before you respond. If you two want people to pay attention to what you have to say then you need to do the same.
