I believe you also have to be searching for employment to be counted. People who don't want to work, and just collect from the government don't count.

The unemployment rate is a BS number. They dont count people who have been out of work for over 2 years. Tons of people in the neighborhoods in every city I've lived in had been out of work for long periods. Pencil whipping the math doesn't mean its actual reality.

I didn’t change my mind under any president. The news has been suspect all the way back to the music movies and culture I listened to and watched in the 90s. Rage against the machine, queensryche, Green Day, etc. Authority in general was questioned. Now authority can’t be questioned, and the corporations and politicians whom we accused of being corrupt all the way back to the 90s and 2000s are still there. Nothing changed except the narrative. The same corporate interests still rule the roost, and that includes the media. If you can’t tell the political bias that exists in our news just by watching it, then I’m not sure how we can even continue an argument. Sensationalism sells, hyperbole sells, hate sells. Tragedy sells. Walter Cronkite news integrity died with Walter Cronkite…..

News became entertainment when they needed to fill the channels 24/7. Anyone who’s not smart enough to know what’s actual news vs infotainment would be just as stupid without the networks.

As for “fake news” predating Trump by 30 years, there’s a huge difference between calling out actual inaccuracies and calling out everything that shows you are a loser as “fake”.
Almost every time Trump cried “fake news” he was proved wrong. He was actually disseminating fake news himself.
