Alright, I have two alpine subs, running on a pioneer amp. Alpine d8601 500 rms, 1500 or so max. My subs are alpine sws 12d4 and alpine sw12d4 the sw12d4 has 600 rms 1800 max 4 ohms(wired to two ohms dual voice coil etc) my sws12d4 is 500 rms 4 ohm wired to 2 ohm which is okay dual voice coil etc. My speakers are pioneer, dont know the exact models they have tweeter midrange and low range which they arent the best since they aren't tweeter and low range seperate. They run off my 50 rms jvc head unit. The speakers are 6.5'

My friend has a Corolla with 6x9 speakers in the rear, dont know the size in the fronts, 2x 12inch pioneer champion series subs 2000 max and everything same amp i have for my subs all that. The problem is his audio sounds so much better like 100x better. I dont know if he has a audio converter or anything. I have a 04 Pontiac vibe and some stuff is loose. I'll be honest my speakers are held in by zip ties but they are tight. I need hell honestly. My gain is set correctly and my speakers are set in place I did all the installation myself. Subs screwed in, amp, wiring all of it. I need some like tips. My rear speakers are stock but dont work. His bass is alot cleaner then mine is and just everything in all sounds better, which in term made me sad. I spent alot of money and time trying to make it better then his but didnt work out.

first off never ever mention max power ever again or you gonna look like an absolute joke.

2nd, your install literally fked up your front speakers from ever being able to sound good, fully sound treat doors, make proper gaskets and baffles (car audio fabrication midbass tutorials on youtube) is the key to getting speakers sound decent. Also aftermarket  speakers need real power. Being powered by a head unit is not 50 rms, literally each speaker is getting 10 watts rms max which is absolutely nothing. Pioneer is trash level when it comes to speakers as well, literally garbage until you get to the D series components which are 130+ and those need a lot of power.

As for your subs, both of them are wired parallel to eachother so its a 1 ohm load to the amp even at that level , you are underpowering the subs and its in a sealed box, you cant expect much out of them.  Make sure they are firing to the rear trunk as close to the trunk lid as possible about 5 inches or so away.

The head unit and tuning also makes or breaks the system  along with his vehicle acoustics being different from yours.  A line out convertor does nothing other than boost the signal. A good head unit and tune with strong pre-out voltage and good dac is what gets you sounding good off the batt.

I'd recommend upgrading door speakers, adding a 4 channel amp and doing a custom designed ported box for the alpines. (no premade boxes)

The box is ported, thanks for the help. Any exact websites for custom boxes you recommend? And my friend has sundown audio speakers. You think those are any good?

you want to find some local builders that know how to get loud and sound good, anything with websites would mean extra cost for shipping. You can also build the box yourself if you have like 10% skill with wood.   Sundown speakers are several leagues above your pioneers.
