Lets just say the amp puts out 800wrms at 2ohms and the sub is a dual 4ohm but wired for 8ohm what would happen...?

Why would you wire to 8 ohms? Theoretically, power would be 200w.

you want the sub wired up at the same ohm as the sub so example you have a 4ohm amp you want the sub wired up at 4ohms but it also depends on how u have the sub's wired to the speaker channels on the amp itself.

well you would get significantly less power

But also less thd and a larger damping factor which means better sq.
