What you think for low end "Alpine" headunits ?

well alpine allways sounds clean, no matter what model it is.................
LOL....that's a matter of opinion, not fact.

I would say that Alpine and Pioneer are very, very close. Both have very good build quality, and good warrany/service.

If the options are the same, price is the same, and warranty is the same, then just go with whatever you think looks best cosmetically (since you will have to stare at it in your dash everyday).

x2.

Also try and play with each unit. Chances are, if it's a cheaper model, you won't be getting a remote with it. If it feels like it'll be a pain when you're driving, why put up with it every day in your vehicle?

well put it this way, take the cheapest alpine, against the cheapest pioneer, and see which 1 is better!!!

Assuming you set everything up properly, you will not hear a difference. If you do, then it is the placebo effect....not related to the units themselves. Either that, or you have the best set of ears in the world, and you should be famous.

I have a friend that works in "TOYAGA" [this is one of caraudio centers in my country] and he told me that Pioneer HUs have very strong bass but no good mids and highs compared to Alpine HUs.

Also I had "Pioneer DEH-2530R" it souds good to me but it was stolen before 1 month.

I dont notice much of a difference between Alpines and pioneer having listened to both on a setup of all the same components. Right after it is powered up, I noticed no difference in SQ, however pioneer might ofer more sound processors at a more reasonable price. If you rely on exterenal crossovers/equalizer it wont matter much, however I did notice Eclipse as compared to pioneer and alpine has much better mids/highs.
