to much wattage???

i have 4 12 kicker xpls.. i recently bought a new amp and it has to many watts for the 4 12s.. i got the orion xtr2400 watt amp and the subs are 500 watt max..if i run the speakers parrell, will they be able to handle 2000 watts? or do i need to keep it to about 500? if any 1 has any subs that they woud like to trade out or sell, that will handle about 2400 watts... let me know

should be able to handle that power for burps, not continuous. dependds on the type of box also ported normally has lower power handeling than sealed.(go ported if you want it really loud and ported boxes do have decent cone control at or above tuning frequency, minimum cone movement at tuning freq) but as long as you are responsible with the volume and turn it down a little if you hear distortion or anything you should not hear then you will be fine. i have some 15s i am selling by the way.
