I have one with a fresh recone/pm me if interested:

Sundown e8:

Re = 3.37 ohms (4 ohm nominal)

Fs = 34.9 hz

Qes = 0.5323

Qms = 6.93

Qts = 0.4943

Vas = 7.6 L

BL = 13.3 N/A

Mms = 127.7 grams

Cms = 162 um/N

Xmax = 12mm one-way linear (70% BL method)

Rated RMS Power = 200 watts

Depth = 4.25"

OD w/ gasket = 8 5/16"

Cut Out = 7"

Sealed Box:

0.280 ft^3 w/ F3 of 50 Hz (Qtc = 0.707)

Ported Box:

0.60 ft^3 tuned to 30 Hz

F3 of 25 Hz

+1 on E8. I was in exact same boat. I have a Sport Trac. I was limited to 8s (with somewhat shallow depth), or extreme shallow/slim 10s/12s. I went with 1 E8, and am quite happy with it. I'm running it sealed on low power. It's depth is 4.25", and I couldn't go any deeper. You won't be able to either based on your dimensions. Remember, the box gets much shallower as it goes higher. I thought I had more room -- until I actually made the box and measured.

If you want sound quality and output. I would do either the jl audio w3v3's or the image dynamics ID3'S. Both can be had for around 120 a piece. Sound quality is excellent on both models. But the ID3's have more output which make them louder. The ID3's have more surface area and xmax than the W3's. ID3's have 15mm of xmax and W3's only have 10mm of xmax. 10mm is about standard for 8 inch subs. 15mm is excellent for 8 inch subs. You look at rockford and kicker 8 sub specs all around 9 and 10 xmax. Just average subs.

but the id8s only use half the wattage rms of the rockford or kicker. i realize double the wattage is only what 3db gain, but what is 5mm of xmax, more than 3db?
