neos= short for neons..

Neos are the new types of magnets being used for high powered drivers, DD Z, IA Warden. I dont like Neos and a lot of other people dont. They lose power when they heat up and the dont dissapate heat as far as i know. SQ drivers with Neos are different.

A level 4/level 4 XL compares to HDC3I guess Nightshades and Level 5's can be compared.

Depends on what Line IA, i dont know much about them but it seems the DP's are on par with nightshades.

Truthfully, I think that going through the hassle of making mounting rings for a lvl5 10" is a waste of time.

That sub is so overmotored and inefficient the way it sits right now. Better off running a lvl4 xl if you are looking for a 10". 99% of normal consumers wouldn't notice a difference anyways.

Hell, I'm not even sure if it makes that big of a deal in competitions either.

Drop a lvl5 coil (if there's even a difference between the coils in a lvl4 and lvl5, both are 8 layer flatwound) in a lvl4 xl and call it a day.

1st off, you have never ran a neo sub, so how would you know what they are like..

Many run the Warden daily- no problems

I disagree. I've found the sub to be alot more sensitive to music than a dd 9500. With 400 watts on one sub 140+ suprisingly efficient. I do understand what your saying though the xl is a 5 in every way except the motor. The lvl 5 really doesnt show its colors till you double the output.

Difference in coils between a 4 and 5 is thier thermal capability.
