How to fuse amp?

Been reading up alot here and I thought the fuse at the battery was to protect the wire. Using 4 gauge and going from the front to trunk recommended fuse size is 100amp.... Hmmmmm...

If all you are running is one amp then the fuse at the battery can be used to protect your amp. simply take your peak wattage and multiply by 1.1 (ten percent) and divide by your operating voltage typically 14.4

Yes, but there's nothing wrong with fusing the wire at less than it's capacity to protect the load.
