370 Amp Alt Vs 5000 RMS?

yes in conjunction with extra reserve batterys - and your playing habits also factor in.

sitting parked in a parking lot doors open you not in the car - engine idling at normal engine idle rpm = not 370 amps as the engine needs to be set to rev up to about 1500 rpm ish to reach that level of output capablity of the alternator.....

my system planing math is super rough but semi acurate - take alternator power + battery amp hours rating times 10 = total system wattage

so 370amp from alt and 130amp from battery would be the bare minimum id recomend to run a system totaling 5k rms value.

using a battery bank of 250 amp hours rating would greatly increase play time and help with voltage drop in a 5k system

would a XS Power D7500 be enough?

I'm running a Lanzar OPTI 110001D (11kw), Mechman 370A, XS 3100 (75lbs), Optima Red, Eaton 135AH (100lbs), 2 Critical Mass Audio UL-12 subs. More than enough power that levels out at 14.6V @ 800rpm.

I'm running an atomic5k at .5 daily on a singer 240a hc1800 under the hood and two xs d5100 in the trunk. Its fine on music, never under 13.4v. Burping I drop to 12v

So What would I need Battery wise to power 5000 watts?
using what alternator ? your stock 100 amp alternator ? a 370 amp unit that actually makes 370 amps ?

the math formula is alternator amp + amp hour rating of battery times 10 = total watts capable of stereo system power

Ever since I added the two batteries my gas mileage went down, I see my gauge needle working it's way to empty. It's good if you have a lot of reserves, but for the weight issue I wish there was another alternative to get loud.

You have a blown cap in the amp more than likely. Had the same thing happen to a soundstream amp.

No need to bypass the amp. Most use an LOC that takes the full amped signal and turns it into a flat RCA level signal. Here is the newest I have...
