I'm baffled.

So there are these new kicker CompD 15"

15" CompD Subwoofer - 4 Ohm | KICKER®

and CompS 15" speakers that are 600watt rms dual or single voice coil, and they cost cheaper than the compvr 15s that are only 500watt rms.

2016 CompVR 15 Inch Subwoofer | KICKER®

So, what's the catch?

why are they cheaper, but more power?

because that makes me want to buy them but id rather have cvrs if they're somehow better.

any ideas?

free cheese is only in the mouse trap, right?

dude, its not for me. its for a customer. they like brand name ****. whats the difference in subs? i was gonna put a kenwood 1000rms on em. im just trying to keep it cheap and brand name. and you cant convince these people that some of the good **** is good because they never heard about it

and whats wrong with kicker? i've been selling that stuff for years

All plastic. No motor, tiny cheap coil, no excurrsion, needs big box

Show him a FU 750 and a few of the YouTube vids of it. Save him money and get a great, American built woofer

the comp D and comp S lines use a cheaper cone material and the baskets are cheaper cast baskets. the new Comp VRs use a different material and press shape and it's still a cast basket but is slightly beefier. I'm still trying to figure out the 100 watt difference in rating still.

get the cvr you wont be disappointed. the cvr's are a tough sub. I have 2 15s cvr's the black 2010 model in a 13 cbft box ported at 31hz on a brutus 1600 at 1 ohm and it gets loud as fk, like as loud as when I had 4 cvr 15s in that same box. talk about airspace advantage. they do need a lot of airspace to impress. nonetheless, it gets loud. 30hz sounds the loudest in this enclosure with the cvrs. paper tricks and shirt tricks no problem
