I am 31 and when I was a kid, we wore our basketball shorts over our knee's. We are from different area's and from different cultures so maybe thats why there is a difference.

When I was a kid all the kids wore shorter shorts than I do now. Long shorts in Pro bball didn't come about until my teens and I didn't understand it then either.
