i have an older xxx18 sub in bad condition with broken tinsels or motor for trade. there is a little rust on the surface of the magnet, and another spot on there but doesnt affect anything. will trade and add money for maybe another sub or a head unit.

Did the tinsel leads your friend put on it work?

well the one lead is disconnected again and the other one on that coil has electrical tape on it so im not sure if that one works. ill go try out the other coil and see if that one still works

ok the one coil still works as is, and the other one comes on if you touch the speaker wire to the tinsel. i only tried it free air though so i dont know how it would be in a box
