Xtant 1001dx true output @ 2 ohm?

I have an Xtant 1001dx that I am looking at using for a set of 8 inch subs. I am considering a set of Cadence CVL8-500-4's. They are single voice coil 4 ohm, so this means I would be running at 2 ohm load. I know the manual on the amp says the output is 500w @ 2 ohm, but I have found a lot of posts saying both that this amp is underrated, and also that this amp is the same as the x1001, which had a 2 ohm output of 1000w.

Does anyone have any real world experience running this amp @ 2 ohm? I know it's not the newest thing on the market, but it's a solid performer, and not having to re-buy an amp will make or break this project.

Thanks!

Yep, and I'd like to buy them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif But only if they will work with this amp...
