XM Radio W/Alpine 9853 Not Working

Well i just got the terk direct setup for my alpine 9853. And i cannot get it to recognize the xm radio when i hit source it never goes to an "XM" ive tried playing with aux in on and off and goin to that source and d-aux. Tried switching the ai-net switch on the bottom side. So if anyone can help that would be great. Also shouldnt it pick up even w/o the antenna connected? At least to channel 0? As far as i kno this 9853 is fully compaitable says sat ready all over box and manual. The only odd thing i noticed is the receiver does not have a power plug. Just has the 2 RCA's from the Adapter and the black s-video lookin digital cable. Does ai-net cable provide power?

You have to make sure the XM is the first device in the AiNet chain. For example if you have any other device such as an IPOD Adapter or CD Changer it will have to be plugged into the XM Receiver then the XM Receiver gets plugged directly into the 9853.

No i have nothing else on ai-net just the xm adapter....

Anyone know if the alpine unit works better than the terks also?
