xenon or trantrum?

Which is better. i think the tant is alittle more powerful. But which is a cleaner amp?

The xenon actually is the better amp, and it uses better internals, but I would actually go with the tantrums. They are power houses.

the xenon has had it's share of failures in the first run. most xenon amps hardly do rated power. most birth sheets read about 1215 for the x1200.1. the tantrum's are solid amps that generally do 1400-1500 watts

The xenons are superior to the tantrum line hands down. Weither you want to believe it or not. It just makes more sense to get the tantrum being that its a smaller amp, and puts out more power. Read this

Here is a quote by the doc himself. Unlike me this guy knows his internals. This is a post in that link I posted.

Xenon actually weighs a lot considering it is all aluminum. You get more heatsink with a Xenon than you do with any other PG except for maybe the MS. My guess is the Xenon actually has more heatsink than an MS does.

This guy has tested many many amps, and he knows his stuff. With that being said I would still rather have the tantrum due to size issues. The xenon is such a large amp. 22 inches long I believe Despite the early bacth issues the xenons are actually the most reliable pg amps to date.

**** the zenon stuff, ive seen it break numerous times, i have perosnally used the tantrum 12 , 1200 watts rms at 4 ohms a beast! you will be seein gup wards of 1500 at 2 ohms, get the tantrum

LIke i said before the first batches broke down. I have the second generation, and have had it for almost a year now, and it hasnt given me a single problem. For you mega your best bet is the tantrum, since it obviously puts out more power, and can be had cheaper.

i dont understand.... U say the xenon is better but get the tantrum? If price and size warent an issue? the xenon is a better choice.

If the xenons were smaller and price werent an issue, and the xenon put out nearly 1500 watts, then yes I would get the xenon. Just see what kind of prices you can find on the tantrums. They can be had for 300 ish on the net.
