nope, it has been taken apart by myself (just the outer/black case) nothing was broken. I took it apart to identify the make of the dvd drive which determines what steps you have to make to get it modded. I'm pretty sure i remember it being a BenQ but it might be one of the new Lite-On's that are harder to crack, so i put it back together and have played on it a few times no problems.
