Wwe

I still watch.

Of course it isn't what it once was. Is all about sports entertainment now and that goes beyond just some hardcore wrestling matches. Shit is about the fireworks, the in depth story lines (Which have sucked mucho *** as of late) and the interviews, the mags, the internet forums. So much more to it now than just wrestling and doing a quick promo. There are no good guys or bad guys (Faces or heels).

I miss the ole days as well, but those have passed on and we are left with this. Still entertaining to a point, but I do find myself DVRing it a lot and fast forwarding through most the show, lol!

I still work security detail for the Chevy Center in Youngstown Ohio when certain events come in. Been doing for years when they would come to the Beegley center. I know quite a few of the wrestlers from back in the day and most of the wrestlers nowasdays. Trust me, they don't miss the old days when they had to beat the shit out of eachother in order to get peoples attention. They still get hurt from time to time now, but not like they used too.

If you want to watch a wrestling show that still puts on a wild show (most times), then hit up TNA. They push the envelope once in awhile.

yeah, there isn't many hardcore matches anymore cuz they rated it like pg or something. I don't get why they did that, no die hard fan wants to watch silly shit. Vince will realize soon enough though.
I stopped watching wrestling years ago because it just got dumb. But did they really stop hardcore matches? That was my favorite thing.

i have a need to go rent wrestle mania 3 was it, hogan vs the giant? what a great one that was //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I re watched some old wrestlemania about a year ago. Like wrestlemania 2-10 and I remember how pumped I was as a kid to watch these......man they were cheesy and so fake.

I guess we all like it being little kids and such, but I lost the love for it when I was about 14ish

I some ties turn it on but its just to much crap now

truf, i just spent the last hour reading the wikipedias on all the old wrestling. It's pretty neat to read about the backstage stuff that was going on.

they had like 6 hours of old 1980's era AWA wrestling on ESPNC yesterday. Old Verne Gagne really knew what he was doing, lol. The best was seeing 19-year old's Marty Janetty and Shawn Michaels as the Midnight Rockers. They were great. And the old, "The russian team is always hated and gonna cheat" themes, lol.

From:

http://www.geocities.com/mcmahonism_wwe/bio.htm

In 1999, McMahon took the WWF public; the McMahon family retained the vast majority of voting shares, however. Forbes placed his net worth at $1.7 billion.
In 2001, his company created a joint venture with NBC for a new professional football league called the XFL. The league folded after one season and is widely regarded as a colossal failure. He and NBC lost over 30 million dollars that year. Also in 2001, the North American wrestling landscape changed forever when the WWF purchased the assets of its long-ailing rival, WCW. AOL Time Warner, then WCW's parent company, was looking to cut costs dramatically in the wake of its merger. McMahon eventually purchased the rights to ECW's video library and trademarks. With these purchases, WWE became virtually the only pro wrestling organization in North America. McMahon ruled North American wrestling virtually unchallenged until 2002, when veteran wrestling promoter Jerry Jarrett and his son, former WWF and WCW star Jeff, created Total Nonstop Action (TNA).

In May 2002 (as noted by the interchangeable usage of different acronyms for the company in this article), McMahon changed the WWF's name to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in the midst of an ongoing lawsuit with the World Wildlife Fund over the use of and trading using the WWF initials. Eventually McMahon hired his heated rival, former WCW President Eric Bischoff to play an on-camera, kayfabe role as RAW general manager, effectively signaling the end of the WCW/WWF rivalry.

Today, he is still worth 6-800million or so. Losing A LOT of money due to, Im sure, numerous reasons. BUT he is still rich as fvck, and still selling out shows wherever his circus pulls up to that night. I used to watch in the Stone Cold, Rock, FULL DX, Foley, Undertaker days, but havent watched in a loooooong time.

the show is predetermined but alot of what goes on people really get hit and so forth..you had to know that even when you were 12 if not do you really think a person would stay hunched over for 10 seconds and not move for a stunning finishing move? LOL
