This is a long shot but I have to try.

I have three IDMAX 12D4 v3s. My 4 channel amp blew after 8 years of running hard. I have no budget and need to trade. I am pretty sure nobody here has these amps, but I will give it a shot. I am looking for any of these 4 channel amps....

US AMPS MD43

US AMPS AXTU4360C

US AMPS 4300

MMATS SQ-4100, or SQ-4150, or SQ-4160

If you are a true audiophile and know about a nice 4 channel amp comparable to the above with really low THD then please let me know; I probably will be interested.

I will post pics of the IDMAXs if someone actually can get me one of these. You can see my feedback on ebay under specsix. If you have one of these amps then this trade would be a better deal for you then for me.

Thanks

Nice amp man, but I need something with less THD. I think that amp has a 1.0 % THD. Sorry, but THD is really important to me. Very tempting though.
Ok. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif Why?

I need a little more than 75 x 4. I should have said that in the beginning. Sorry, but I am new to this.
When an amplifier is driven with a signal, the output of the amplifier is an amplified version of the input signal PLUS any distortion created by the amplifier. All amplifiers and signal processors add distortion to the signal. The levels of harmonic distortion in a high quality amplifiers are sooooo far below audibility that they are basically of no concern. When someone tells you that one amplifier is definitely going to sound better because its THD is rated at .002% vs an amp with .05%, you can be pretty sure that he doesn't know what he's talking about. Many people believe that THD below 1% is not audible and I believe they're probably correct. The fact is, especially in an automobile, the amplifier is the least of your worries. Speakers used for mids and highs commonly produce between 1% an 5% THD and for subwoofers the numbers can easily reach 10%. This doesn't even take into account all of the resonances of all of the plastic and metal panels in the vehicle.

That is obvious. You wont hear the difference between 75 and 90 watts, nor will you hear the diff between .05 and .03 distortion. If you want to buy an amp based on specs, I can get a 4 channel Boss amp to spec out to what you want, on a bench, by anybody with the test gear.

Because I that is what I want. What I don't want is a THD argument. That has been hashed so many freakn times on the internet. That is what I want to trade, can't say it any different, sorry.

Welcome (back I should say since you joined in 05') to the forum first off! Secondly, you may be better off selling the idmax's and just buying the amp of your choice new. You can get MORE than enough from those 3 subs to buy the highest of end SQ, powerful 4 channel amps out there and it be exactly what you want!

Good luck with your search!

Good advice. Thanks for setting a better tone; I thought this was going to turn into another one of those argument turd threads. I just do not know where to sell them because IDMAX prices are falling like crazy on ebay. It could have something to do with the economy. I tried to sell them on here, but no luck. I will just keep trying I guess.

Guys like you are the reason I came back, but I almost just said screw it with comments like "Thats obvious" and THD lectures.

Thanks man
