I'm looking for something that will not skip (high 140's possibly 150db) as much as my Pioneer Premier 490ib. I also have a JVC KD-AR560 that is a great HU, but not too many EQ adjustments (because im running active). So I'd like something similar to my JVC, but with atleast the EQ adjustments that my Pioneer has.

I can't trade both HU's for 1 HU because I still need two, 1 for me, 1 for my g/f's truck.

Let me know what you have to trade if interested in one of the other, I can add $$$ if i like what you have.

heres the JVC:

heres the Pioneer Premier: (excellent condition, just needs a quick wipe down)

if yours doesnt skip at 148+ db then i might do it, but it probably will just like mine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I tried a lesser expensive MP3 player, and the volume did not go as loud...

will the actual IPOD be the same if not better than an mp3 cd (as far as volume)? if so, then I'll start looking for one.

That really depends on the music files loaded, and if you're using just the earphone plug or if you're hooking it up with the link cable. Earphone jacks have low output voltage, and are not 'designed' to be used on an AUX input. If you do the direct connect using the iPod cable instead of the earphone jack, it should definitely be louder. My brother-in-law didn't want to buy an iPod and had a cheap MP3 player and complained about the same thing, so he went out an bought a line drive for use with the 3.5MM to 2 RCA Y adapter, and it fixed the volume problem. That could be another choice?

ok, i might still go with an ipod..

so i will need a cable that plugs into the bottom of the ipod (where it charges from) that goes to the 3.5mm (Aux in) to get the optimal performance? instead of headphone to aux in?

No, you would want to get this or this one. I'm not sure which one your deck needs. I tried looking, but I'm not having any luck.
