that i can just mount on my dash some where.

or just like the blue on in this guys video

You can buy em for cheaper than 30 on ebay...and they only have like 4 wires. 2 are to power the meter and the other 2 are to attach to whatever voltage your monitoring. In your case they would both go to the same place (your battery)

I've been using the xscorpion meter from http://www.darvex.com for a while. no issue's, here.

ritz camera online has them for about 27 shipped in blue or red.

They usually only come with a short amount of wire though.

I've got a red stinger one. $20 shipped. I can throw some 18 gauge wire to run to the battery with it.
