blew my two 10" Alpine Type R's, so now im looking for a sub and box or 2 subs and a box that will fit my 2003 Mach1 and that can handle the wattage of my amp. ported or sealed, dual 10's/12's/ or single 12 or 15--doesnt matter, just as long as both subs or the one sub can handle 1500wrms. post pics pls. would like to buy locally in So Cal if possible...

Okay I'm confused. Where is the 3k RMS?

You have an amp capable of a probably overrated 1700wRMS at 2 ohms. To make matters worse, the power is fed through 8 gauge.

Double check the subs with a DMM to confirm they are blown.

Did you set your gains properly to begin with?

i have 2 re *** 12's in a 5.2 cube box after displacement @35hz.
I dont think that big of a box will fit in my 03 Mustang Mach1 lol thanks tho

i meant 1500rms total. PA is very overrated. i picked this amp cuz i based the approximate RMS on the fuses it can hold. I figured if the Alpine PDX 1.1000 is CEA rated has an 80 amp fuse rating and is said to have 1000rms, then my amp with a 120 amp fuse rating should somewhat be around 1500rms.

both subs ARNT blown, i just wanted to make a long story short and to get another reason to buy subs lol... one of them still works but the other sub's glue from the rubber to the cone just couldnt handle the amp and its all fallen apart. and yes, im currently upgrading my wiring with my new subs. the 8gage will be my new speaker wire. :p

you can't base power just off fuses lol. my little pdx600 has 80 amps worth of fuses on it. some companies that overrate their amps will throw a shitload of fuses on an amp for the same reason you're thinking.

LOL i doubt that. that would be a complete waste of time and money for manufacturers to do so, so idk about that statement...

but the fuse rating is just one factor.. but i did SOME research on the amp before i bought it. i've personally reached 121 db on this with my weak electronics..

ive read of people reaching 147+ db...

If you want to save some money bring me your type r's and I can most likely repair them as long as they aren't completely fubr
let me think about it. im seriously considering 12's just so its louder. if your still interested, i might just sell you the one where the glue came off and give the other to my really good friend...

and i can build you a proper box at the same time....
i might just take u up on that offer. ill PM you when i got something certain going. where r u lcated?

Youre pretty ****ing gay, take that bullshit out of your signature, youre not shaking shit with 2 10s in a piece of shit mustang.
lmfao. like you are there when i come home? and dont u have something else better to do then bash posts? also, whats with the name? i detect definite insecurity issues very deep here. lastly, grow up. or dont post in my thread.

Dood, back off, he obvi haz teh deebeez to knock pictures down in other states.

If you want to fix these let me know, I would charge you at most $20 to do both. That is if they aren't completely fubr. Also type r's are pretty good budget subwoofers. Get a better amp and a properly built enclosure.
