Wtb sub and amp

My brother is looking to put something simple in a daily driver he just picked up for cheap. Think it's a 2004 grand am. Got it for $300. Anyways, he wants me to hook him up with something simple. Thinking of going with just one 12" and an amp that's maybe 1000 watts . What sub and amp would you guys recommend. Cheaper the better. Thought of maybe a Sundown sa or e series, or one of the soundquebed subs.

I don't have any car audio references. I'm doing my first build. I started an account here to buy a big 3 kit from mylows10. I bought components and amps over on diyma but they don't have a fb system. I was reading some of the negative fb threads and get it if you don't wanna buy from someone with 1 post150 plus shipping I'm also looking for some focal.6.5s or 6x9s for rear fill or a ms8

If this deal does not work out I've got a new pair of Focal midbasses I JUST bought on ebay for $150. I'd be interested in a trade.

I have a DA Cm3 12d2, $100 shipped. No dents, dings, or scratches. I ran one on a DA D6 600.1@1 ohm for a couple years and never had an issue.
