i bought the video cables with the s-video how much different is that than the hdmi cables? what what's a dvi?

DVI is a digital video input for people who don't have a HDMI on their tv. I don't think their is much of a difference in the video quality between DVI and HDMI but I don't personally know so If someone else wants to chime in feel free. I was using it to play on a computer monitor. There is a HUGE diffrence between the S Video and the actual HDMI/HD Cables...
