wtb - one 18" sub ( middle range $ )

hey guys. - im hoping to find a replacment 18" under $200 or so.

I have currently a 18" sub in ported box in my vette.

its ok

sub is jbl from a powered pa speaker ( like dj style )

and jbl sub is good clean sounding - but hardly any x max with its ribbed

paper surround and its single 4 ohm voice coil is limiting power I can give it

from my hifonics bxi 1206d.

so

I want to up grade to the next level sub.

something with decent x max - and probly dual 2 coil configuration

so I can hook it up to run 1 ohm load to my amp and use all of

what ever my hifonics will give off. maby 1k watt to 1200w ?

some where in there is the real specs id imagine, as I hear hifonics over

so basicly - im in south FL. 33063 and id like to spend less $ than is nessary,

to upgrade my 18" sub to something more respectable.

my box is got some decent space in it - so mounting depth is not an issue,

and im good with my circular saw to modify the box to suit the new woofer

specs its designed for. box has 3.77 cubic foot before woofer displacment

not including the extra area of the port - right now box is down fire position

at slight angle facing the front of car to give off false port of front of box

- and rear port bounces off the rear hatch glass and gives nice sounds,

am actually pretty happy with my box, it does alot with the crap o sub I have

in it right now.

chris shaw got to hear it when I first did it up - sounded real good then

but sub is starting to crap out now. is why I want a real one now.

my other hobby = flatland bmx. sick stuff.

as for $ hoping to come in under 200$

right around 200$ maby a little more

but not too much.

realley not wanting to buy a mj cause of its single 4 coils.

id like to use a final load of 1 ohm

or 2 ohm at 8 to 900 watt.

I got an 18" RD Alpha for sale. Might be a little more then you want to spend. Ill be in Florida from Thursday-Sunday. I could cut down a bit on price for a local pick up.
