WTB Old School Head Unit

Looking for a DIN (Old school style) head unit that will fit in a 944 Porsche. Must have the following:

All Black with "classic" styling

Volume nobs not buttons

Min 4Volt pre-out

Excellent condition only

Red Illumination preferred

Power is not important

Anything from the mid to late 80's to current (the older the better as long as it meets the requirements.

I am going to primarily listen to the radio and my ipod.

Alpine?

Kenwood?

Blaupunkt?

I will pay a fair price for the right unit.

clarion hx-d10? it doesnt have an interal amp though, but the pre outs are 4v. Volume knob is a knob, and you can change the color to red as well. It has minor scratches if you look at it in direct sunlight and a bit dust in the screen, but has seen very light use. If this works let me know.

An Eclipse 8443 or equavelent model would work.

You can adjust the buttons from ugly green to a dark red. The display is blue but can be shut off. ( turns on when buttons are used)

are you talking baout after market old school or just like old i put a blaupunkt in my dads 911 he also wanted to update the stereo but didnt want to change the look of the car. i think its an 88 its the greman edition too so it wasn't easy with the manual being in german luckily most of my friends speak so i was good to go. Re: the Clarion and Eclipse, they meet many of the qualifications, but I am hoping to find a unit that is totally black.

Re: the Nak, yes that is an option and one that I may need to look at if I can't find anything here.

It doesn't have to be stock (it could be aftermarket) as long as it has the look. Car is a 1994.

I have Premier DEX M88 its easy to change the display with bulb covers it is in excellant condition early competition deck with digital optic outputs also have the Premier DEQ 7500 EQ that goes with it it is a controller that attaches to the brain features 4 Band Parametric EQ ...7 band graphic EQ....9 band spectrum analyzer....5 mode soundfield control...and digital optical link capable...it has front rear sub and center outputs...like the DEX M88 the display color can be customized with bulb covers...
