You might think this a silly question but is it for a collection or do you intend to put it to use?

I have an 8808.6 but QC missed a bad glue job and at the extremes of excursion the coil is pulled off center and makes a ticking noise but this only happens at near two inches of stroke. I just keep it around as part of my collection.
