I dont mean to rain on your parade, but just run proper wire, and do the big 3.

no one needs a cap, unless its for digital display of volts.

well I have an 85 corvette with yellow top battery and rebuilt alternator, at idle the the car starts dipping into the mid 13's on voltage and, with the system going...I can't downsize the alternator pulley anymore than what it is. Don't want another battery, I just need a good cap.

I'm not going with a 20 farad cap...I don't see anything in that link that is helpful to me. I've ran other audio systems before and caps do help. My brother had 2 jbl 1200's running 4 hx2 power subs in his ranger--stock battery/stock alternator....Had 2 white batcaps...truck ran perfectly on voltage

oh ok, never new that..would I be safer sticking with 1 batcap? I'm only powering a jl500.1 (jl 10w7) and a rockford 400.4 (dynaudio)

yea, look for a batcap or small battery like hc600 or hc 800

13v is not bad at all, especially if that's at idle...

yeah, but my lights start to flicker. I have a custom headlights setup, they draw abit more juice (4 h4 bulbs) I have Led underbody lights, and interior neons. I'll just look for a small batcap.
