I'll keep that in mind. Might be looking for something a little bigger. Really want a lot of xmax.I have a dd3500e motor and an 18" basket I know its not huge but with stock parts it will take 2-2500.hell I ran an aq3500 on it for 6 months.
it is pricey...but worth it...like I've always said its only monies...might as well spend it and enjoy it...That would def be an epic motor. Thing is, it would run a TON of monies.

its the original owner of shocker if im not mistakenGuy on CACO has a pallet of sig motors those things are big and beefy you should check into those... Seen them in person they are sexy!
They crop up from time to time. I'm not actually saying you should get a TC9, my point was simply that the motor won't necessarily need to be as deep as you'd expect to achieve a high Xmax or high overall excursion. In your case though, two reasons that you may want to go ahead with a larger motor is to keep the over all Q down to a reasonable level since you're planing for an 18" build (and you'll probably want to use it vented), but also for the benefit of the additional mass which will help wick heat away from the coil. I don't run high power installations so there are better folks to talk to on that point. You can block your pole vents and such to help raise power handling but at the expense of lots more turbulence and other mechanical noise. All depends on what your priorities are I guess. Me, I like quiet. (Excursion, that is.)Where can I find one?
