WTB Horns

I am currently upgrading my frontstage. I was wondering the prices on a good set of horns. Im only looking to spend around 250 for a set.
Depends on which line you are looking at. You could pick up the CD-1e's for around $125 a pair. The CD1's normally go for around $200-225 used. CD2Comps normally go for around $275-$350. Sometimes you can find a good set of the CD-2Comps for around $250.

And that's just for the horns. Not the mids, and not the crossovers. Just the horns.

Image Dynamics horns gottabe cheaper than that!!!
I got mine (optimus 3 1/4") for $10, they sound good to me.
I can't tell if you are serious or sarcastic //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

Hey, ID doesn't list prices on their website. So... Like, i don't know their prices mmkay? 250 bucks seems like alot for some formed plastic and a compression driver.

You wouldn't think that once you heard them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Horn designs aren't as simple as just "formed plastic". There is a lot of work that goes into getting the actual design of the horn right. Not to mention quality compression drivers are not cheap.

BTW, sounddomain is an authorized ID dealer, and sells their horns on the website if you ever want to check out what MSRP on them is //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I had USD Waveguides and LOVED THEM!

I hear the ID's are sweet sounding, the Verts are very nice!!! Huge horns, but sound is very nice. Pro-tech used to sell them, also I believe that Crossfire sells them.

They are okay for the price, and with good tuning can sound pretty good. They aren't nearly as efficient as the CD1's or CD2's, and use a peizo driver.

Jumping up to the CD1's is a big setup up in terms of performance, though.
