older cd-2 does play up to 20k lol as did the cd-3 owned both ran both competed with both. you run anolog anywhere in your system a really high eff might not be to your likeing either. analog anything generally produces noise (reg speakers arent sensitive most of the time to pick it up. horns can and do). if you like real to life detail (some argue the other way with this but it depends on what is playing) horns are great they play minor details you normally dont hear in "even the best" regular speakers.

* detail such as hearing a pick on guitar strings and some major background vocals (lack of background is usually more with added improperly tuned rearfill as well)

in personal experences horns out image, stage, detail and out volume regular speakers where many argue regular speakers are tonally superior. in home audio a regular speaker imo gets far more detailed easily than in a car so the difference in detail performance shrinks a bit. i think it really depends on what you put the most weight on.

i still dont understand why people cut them that short. but its CD2's (same ones i have) but a different hornbody!

they should still work perfectly fine. if you are that nervous about it, just buy new hornbodies for cheap and sell the ones you have

Good luck find ID horns that haven't had the bodies trimmed.

As long as the mouth isn't infringed upon, it doesn't affect performance at all.

This is understood and Now i do not hold it against him that he trimmed the bodies. I thought he had altered the actual functionality of the horns. Im probably going to buy them.

you can even mount them from inside the horn as well as long as you dont get too gung ho about it lol
