Sorry i took so long for the reply. Thats part of the issue. the other part is that I've heard that the way it is wired for the 3 buttons under the radio makes it a constant instead of accessory power so it drains the battery. I need to find a solid way around that, find a different kit, or have one made
Metra's Turbo2 kits are some of the best on the market for vehicles with a lot of electronics integrated into the center console. They've engineered dash kits with integrated complete HVAC replacement controls when it was said it couldn't be done. To overlook something as basic as switched power vs constant power is pretty hard to believe.
I have a Metra turbo kit 2 on my 08 Mazda 6i. It was a plug and play kit. Never had wiring problem. The only beef I have about it was the color. I have bought several kits from different vendors and got the same grey color when I order black. I contacted metra about and took pictures of the part number. All they told me is to send it back to the vendor. So I painted it black.
What I heard from a dealer in Spokane, Wa, Metra is coming out with a double din in April or in may for the Mazda 6 1st gen.
