how exactly did ps2 beat the xbox? Cuz it certianly wasnt in features, no hard drive, no good online community, memory cards wtf?, graphics were horrible in every ps2 game i played, controllers **** cawk, loading time FTL.
and i own both, i bet my ps2 doesnt have more then 10 hours playtime on it, and my xbox is fcking worn out.

I believe the PS2 outsold the Xbox. I think the PS2 had a much better selection of great game titles (don't forget the PSX library). The only titles I was ever jealous of the Xbox for were Forza, Halo, and Fable. I will concede that the Xbox trumps in terms of specifications, but eh. Graphics, like beauty, is only pixel (ha!) deep. Though it's tough to say the Xbox was better when it can't even load the textures fast enough to keep up with cut scenes (Halo 2). Anyway, that's enough of that for this thread.

ill give ps2 its game base, it definantly had microsoft beat on that, but i will still faithfully stand by my xboxs features, multiplayer community, and gameplay. Until sony can come up with something that is TRUELY a next game console (with easy, smooth multiplayer) i will keep my opinion.

I wouldn't doubt it. It would make business sense. Lookin' back it was kinda smart for Microsoft to make the HD-DVD player separate. Perhaps they had a gut feeling about it...
