WTB GPU for computer.

the 98xx series was comparable to the ATI 48xx series, but at the time ATI was producing a better GPU. more powerful, and when used in x-fire, would walk all over the nvidia cards.

when Nvidia came out with thier new line..iirc was the GT 160ish or something, thats when the market was favoring Nvidia.. i have fallen out of the computer/gaming side, but believe Nvidia has still maintained the upper edge over the ATI cards. this is also when they started pushing the PhysX. about that time is when there was a shift from ATI to Nvidia.

IIRC, the only good thing about the 9800 series was that it was a monster OC-er.. but the cards were far and few between ones you could get a good OC on as opposed to a medicore OC. it mostly turned out it was better to just buy a decent card from the get go.. but then you have the die hards who WC, and Phase cool that push things to its limits.

thats a lie.

so you are saying that the 4850's and the 4870's didnt walked all over Nvidia at the time of thier release, and the time afterwards until nvidia responded with the GTX series?

ATI blew nvidia out of the water on most benchmarks, and actual performance with these cards.. hence why i have been running 2 4870's in Xfire instead of running the nvidia card i had?

it is the same thing when comparing AMD to Intel...

one CPU will be better than the competitions.. the the competition will make a better one and it goes back and forth.

im sure this can be applied easily to the car audio market as well.

you may not agree with it, but it still doesnt change the fact that at the time the products were made, they were better than anythign else on the market at the time.
