WTB: Dell CD rom drive

My brother had a dell laptop sitting in his closet. A PP01L to be exact, so I am going to use it while going to AIT.. When you put CD's in it it doesnt work. Please excuse my ignorance with computers but I do not have a clue when it comes to them. But I believe its a cd rom drive that I need? If not please fill me in on what its called and if its not worth the hassle of the price please point me in the direction of one that would work. Thank You

You just cant slap any cdrom drive in there you need the model number have you checked that the drives are installed for the cd rom drive to work.
